Muxammedov Murod Muxamadiyevich

           Muhammedov Murod Muhammedovich, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor

           Born on October 21, 1949, in the city of Samarkand, he graduated from school with a gold medal (1967) and, studying with a Lenin scholarship at the Samarkand Cooperative Institute of Tsentrosoyuz (1969-1971), graduated with excellent marks (1971). He received the degree of Candidate of Sciences (1979, Kyiv), Doctor of Economic Sciences (1992, Moscow, MUPK), the title of Professor (1996), and became a full member of the International Academy of Informatization (1997). Muhammedov M.M. was elected Secretary of the institute's party organization           (1989-1991). He headed the institute's scientific laboratory (1978-1980). He has served as Head of Department (1985-1986; 2005-2007; 2008-2012), Vice-Rector for Research of the institute (1992-1993), Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Affairs (1993-1994), Rector of the institute  (1994-1998), Head of the Social Sciences Department of the Regional Complex Research Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1998-2005), and Director of the institute's Center for Integration and Innovation (2007-2008).

            Over the course of his scientific and pedagogical career, Prof. M.M. Muhammedov has authored and published 25 monographs, 35 pamphlets, 20 textbooks and study guides, nearly 40 teaching and methodological works, and nearly 700 scientific articles.                       A considerable number of M.M. Muhammedov's monographs, pamphlets, and scientific articles have been published abroad: in Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Estonia, Kazakhstan, and other countries. The textbooks, study guides, and methodological works he has created are widely used in the country's higher education institutions and vocational colleges.        

          Prof. M.M. Muhammedov continues to take an active part in the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel. At various times he has actively participated as chairman or member of specialized councils for the award of the academic degrees of Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences. From 1992 to 1998 he was chairman of the specialized council for the award of the degree of Candidate of Sciences at the Samarkand Cooperative Institute, and later he served as a member of the interstate specialized councils for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Sciences at the Academy of State and Public Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent State University of Economics, the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, and the Kazakh University of Economics of Consumer Cooperation. He has acted as official opponent for more than 50 dissertations, including doctoral dissertations defended in foreign countries. This attests to the great respect shown to him. In the course of his career he has had the opportunity to deliver scientific presentations at more than 10 symposia and international forums. He served as a member of the commission for the development and implementation of investment projects under the Samarkand Regional Governor's Office (2023-2024).

         He founded a scientific school in the field of "Services and Service Industry." The members of the scientific school and gifted students               are preparing and publishing numerous scientific articles under the guidance of Prof. M.M. Muhammedov and delivering substantive papers at scientific conferences.          Students studying under him have been achieving great success, winning prizes in olympiads in the economic sciences. From 2002 to 2009 he supervised more than 10 master's dissertations. The students he supervised now hold leadership positions in state administration bodies.

         Nearly 30 dissertations have been defended under the supervision of Prof. M.M. Muhammedov. He has trained 24 Candidates of Sciences (PhD) and 5 Doctors of Sciences (DSc). Currently, 3 Doctors of Philosophy and also 3 independent researchers are working on their doctoral dissertations under his supervision. Over the course of his scientific and pedagogical career, Prof. M.M. Muhammedov has served as project leader for 5 international grants and 5 state grants of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the end of 2016, the annual report on a fundamental research project was successfully submitted.

         In 2016, he was awarded the "25th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" commemorative badge.

         In 2021, he was awarded the "30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" commemorative badge.

         In 2024, he was awarded the badge "Excellence in Higher Education" of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
