MAIN AREAS OF ACTIVITY OF THE YOUTH UNION AT THE SAMARKAND INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND SERVICE

Since the early years of independence, one of the priority directions of state policy has been to increase the role and activity of young people in society and to provide them with comprehensive support. To this end, the Youth Union has been implementing wide-ranging initiatives aimed at protecting the interests of young people, increasing their socio-political activity, helping them acquire modern professions, and ensuring the meaningful organization of their free time.

At the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, the primary organizations of the Youth Union carry out consistent work to support students, encourage their initiatives, assist socially vulnerable youth, and develop leadership skills. In recent years, a number of regulatory documents aimed at improving youth work have been adopted, creating extensive opportunities to enhance the social activity of students. Today, the number of students actively participating in education, science, culture, sports, and entrepreneurship is increasing. Various clubs and teams have been established based on students' initiatives, and the role of the Youth Union in their development is invaluable. In particular, the increasing number of leaders, volunteers, and authors of social projects among students indicates the effectiveness of the Youth Union’s activities.

MAIN GOALS OF THE YOUTH UNION COUNCIL

• effectively implementing state policy aimed at protecting the rights and legitimate interests of students, organizing comprehensive measures to increase their activity in the life of society and the state;

• expanding youth participation in public and state governance, creating necessary conditions for their professional and personal development, and enhancing their leadership potential;

• identifying the problems faced by students in a timely manner, forming targeted lists of socially vulnerable and disabled youth, and providing them with the necessary assistance;

• organizing events aimed at developing legal and psychological skills related to constructive resolution of family, interpersonal, and social conflicts among youth; implementing educational programs aimed at strengthening families, preventing early marriages, and reducing divorce rates;

• monitoring the implementation of legal documents that ensure equal rights and opportunities for youth, and conducting social oversight of their application in university departments;

• overseeing the enforcement of legislation aimed at protecting students from violence, identifying victims, and providing them with assistance and psychological support in cooperation with relevant institutions;

• developing and implementing regional and university-level programs aimed at preventing any form of pressure, intimidation, or violence among students, ensuring a safe educational environment;

• organizing educational activities aimed at preparing young people for family life, involving young families in community engagement, promoting exemplary young individuals in society, and presenting them as role models;

• recommending students who have significantly contributed to the development of the institute, participated actively in social projects, and achieved high results for state and departmental awards.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE COUNCIL

The main duties of the Youth Union Council include increasing student participation in political, social, and economic processes, involving them actively in social life, supporting their initiatives in all aspects, improving their socio-economic conditions, and protecting their rights and interests. Developing national values, spirituality, patriotism, and a healthy lifestyle among students also constitutes an important direction of the council’s work. The ultimate goal of this activity is to raise morally mature, well-rounded young individuals with strong life positions and to contribute to society’s progress through them.

The Youth Union Council actively participates in the socio-spiritual life of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service. With the support of the administration, continuous spiritual-educational activities are carried out among professors, teachers, staff, and students. Large-scale projects are implemented among students, especially youth, to develop healthy thinking, responsibility, and leadership skills.

Regular meetings, open dialogues, and roundtable discussions are organized to study the psychological state of students and identify their needs and problems. The activities of the Youth Union aim to promote a healthy lifestyle, avoid harmful habits, engage in sports, follow moral and ethical norms, and develop communication and dress culture among students.

STRUCTURE OF THE YOUTH UNION COUNCIL OF THE SAMARKAND INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND SERVICE

At the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, the Youth Union Council is established to support students, increase their activity in academic, scientific, cultural, social, and socio-political life, and coordinate and develop youth initiatives.

The composition of the council is formed to fully cover the youth work system at the institute and includes:

• Youth leader – Chairman of the Council;

• 11 faculty and direction coordinators – responsible persons organizing youth activities in all faculties and educational programs of the institute;
